It usually starts with a feeling.
Sometimes it’s a thought I’ve been carrying, a phrase that lingers in my mind, or an emotion that needs a voice. Other times, I’ll hear a melody and something inside me lights up — like a switch has been flipped. That’s when I know… there’s a song waiting to come through.
For me, songwriting isn’t about following a strict formula. It’s about creation — letting the energy move through me and guide the process. I often start with affirmations, lines of poetry, or pieces of truth I’ve picked up through life, healing, or deep reflection. And then, I shape those into lyrics that carry emotion, message, and meaning.
Every word, every line, comes from something real inside me — a memory, a moment, a shift in perspective. Sometimes I use creative tools to help refine what’s already there, but the soul of the song is always mine. It begins with my vision, my intention, my energy — and I’m fully present in every step of bringing it to life.
There’s always a moment where everything clicks. I feel it in my body — that “yes” moment. My thoughts align with the rhythm, and I can sense that this song is meant to exist. That it’s part of my journey, and maybe even part of someone else’s too.
I’ve come to trust that feeling. I’ve learned that creativity doesn’t need to look one specific way. It just needs to be true. And that’s exactly what I try to bring into every song — truth, feeling, and something that speaks to the heart.
So if you’ve ever wondered how my songs are born… it’s like this.
A spark. A melody. A moment of emotional clarity.
And the courage to let it all come through.
I don’t follow a formula — I follow a feeling.
With love,
Adrienn 💛
