Why Affirmations Finally Worked for Me

Why Affirmations Finally Worked for Me

For years, I heard people talk about positive affirmations.

“I am enough.”

“I am worthy.”

“I am confident.”

I genuinely believe these words can be powerful.

But if I’m honest…

simply repeating them never really changed anything for me.

I could say the words.

My mind understood them.

But my heart didn’t quite believe them yet.

Then something unexpected happened.

Instead of speaking those affirmations…

I started singing them.

The moment they became music, everything felt different.

A melody slowed me down.

The emotion behind the words became real.

Instead of trying to convince myself, I could actually feel what I was singing.

That’s how several of my songs were born.

Forever You and I grew from relationship affirmations inspired by the different areas of the Wheel of Life.

Drive Forward began while I was preparing for my UK driving test. Rather than repeating “I can do this” over and over, I turned those thoughts into a song I could listen to every day.

Music gave those words a home.

Perhaps that’s why I love songwriting so much.

A song doesn’t just tell us something.

It helps us feel it.

And sometimes…

that’s where real change begins.

🤍 Words can inspire us.

Music helps us believe them.

Love,

Adrienn
