The Song I Wrote Before a New Chapter Began

Some songs tell the story of where we’ve been.

Others quietly introduce us to where we’re going.

Heart’s Path was one of those songs.

At the time, I was waiting for a chapter of my life to come to an end.

It felt as though everything was on pause.

There was nothing more I could do except wait.

So instead of focusing on what I couldn’t control, I did something different.

I imagined the life that was waiting for me on the other side.

What freedom would feel like.

What peace would feel like.

What it would be like to finally step into a life that truly felt like mine.

Those thoughts slowly became lyrics.

Then they became Heart’s Path.

When the song was finished, I played it again…

and again…

and again.

It wasn’t simply a song anymore.

It became a reminder of the life I believed was possible.

Then, just two days later, I received an email that changed everything.

The chapter I’d been waiting to close had finally come to an end.

Looking back, I don’t remember the paperwork.

I remember the feeling.

The feeling of finally being able to move forward.

Whenever I hear Heart’s Path now, it takes me back to that moment.

Not because it reminds me of what I left behind…

but because it reminds me where I was heading.
